Nusa Lembongan Day Trip
The easiest of the Nusa Islands with kids: 30-minute fast boat from Sanur, then a private driver and minibus on Lembongan for Devil’s Tear cliffs, Mushroom Beach swimming and a calm-bay snorkel at Mangrove Point. Baby seat fitted at the Sanur jetty and again on the Lembongan minibus.

Your Nusa Lembongan day with kids — hour by hour
6:30–7:30am: pickup from your villa or hotel anywhere in South Bali or Sanur. The ISOFIX baby seat is fitted before you leave — same seat standard as our airport transfers.
8:00am: arrive Sanur harbour. Your driver walks you to the correct fast-boat operator lane (there are several along the beach — easy to get wrong when jet-lagged). Life vests for kids 4+ are issued at boarding; infant vests on request.
8:30–9:00am: 30-minute fast-boat crossing to Jungut Batu on Lembongan. Air-conditioned cabin seating; calmer than the 45-minute Penida crossing.
9:30am–12:00pm: private minibus on Lembongan with a child seat re-fitted at the jetty. Devil's Tear cliff blowhole first (fenced viewpoints — toddlers stay with an adult), then Mushroom Beach for a calm-bay swim.
12:30–2:00pm: lunch at a beach warung with high chairs (your cost). Optional 90-minute Nusa Ceningan loop via the Yellow Bridge — free on request.
2:30–4:00pm: Mangrove Point reef snorkel — kid-grade fins and reef shoes included. Shallow enough for confident 4+ swimmers with a parent.
4:30pm: fast boat back to Sanur, then drive home. Most families are back by 6:30pm — in time for a sleepy toddler dinner.
Family safety on the Lembongan fast boat and island roads
The Sanur–Lembongan crossing is the gentlest Nusa route we offer — 30 minutes in a certified fast boat with life vests for every passenger. Bring a Ziploc bag and snacks if your child is prone to sea-sickness; the morning swell is usually calmer than the afternoon return.
Strollers are awkward on the boat gangway — a soft carrier works better for under-2s. On Lembongan we switch to a minibus with a fresh ISOFIX install; island roads are narrow but the driver knows the smoothest lines.
Devil's Tear has fenced cliff edges but no barrier at every angle — hold toddlers by the hand. Mushroom Beach is a calm bay at most tides; Mangrove Point snorkel is optional and we skip it if your child isn't water-confident.

West Bali National Park & Menjangan Snorkel
The longest drive on our list — and worth it. West Bali National Park’s Menjangan ("deer") Island has the clearest reef in Bali, a vertical wall starting at 3m. A short outrigger ride from the Labuan Lalang jetty, two reef stops, a beach picnic, then back. Best for older kids — long day, both ways.

Nusa Penida East — Diamond Beach & Atuh
Penida’s east side is the kid-friendlier half: dramatic but mostly viewed from above. We do the Diamond Beach lookout (no descent — the staircase is steep), Atuh Beach cove for a paddle and the Tree House Molenteng photo deck. Penida’s roads are notoriously bumpy — we use a 4WD with a child seat.
